First Step Learning Center has proudly served Nebraska City, NE, and the surrounding communities since 2001 as a trusted provider of high-quality early childhood education and childcare. We nurture children from 6 weeks to 9 years old, offering a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where young learners can grow, explore, and thrive.

Early Childhood Care & Education (6 Weeks–5 Years): First Step Learning Center Inc. offers nurturing, high-quality childcare and preschool education for children from 6 weeks through preschool age. Our program blends loving care with purposeful learning, creating a safe and engaging environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive. Through age-appropriate activities and play-based instruction, we support early literacy, math readiness, social development, and emotional confidence, helping children build a strong foundation for future success in school and life.
School-Age Care & Summer Programs (5–9 Years): For school-age children, First Step Learning Center provides reliable care that keeps learning going beyond the classroom. Our program offers a balanced mix of enrichment, creativity, and relaxation, giving children a supportive place to learn, play, and connect with peers. During the summer months, children enjoy fun-filled days designed to encourage curiosity, imagination, and active learning, making summer both memorable and meaningful.
Whole-Child Development Programs: Every child develops at their own pace, and our programs are designed to support the whole child—socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. Through guided activities, hands-on experiences, and positive interactions, children gain confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
